A software fee per running hour, charged through the cloud marketplace alongside the virtual machine. A free trial period applies to each image.

The software fee is in addition to the cloud provider's charge for the virtual machine. Final listing prices are set at launch within the ranges below.

| Instance size | Small is defined as two vCPUs or fewer. Larger instances are priced per core; the marketplace listing shows the exact figure for each size. |
| Clusters | Clusters of three or more instances of the same image receive a discount. Request a private offer and state the instance count. |
| Annual private offers | Agencies, primes and organizations requiring a fixed price for a budget year may obtain an annual private offer through the marketplace. Billing remains on the cloud account. |

Free trial
One month on Azure; 30 days on AWS
The software fee is waived for the trial period. The customer pays the cloud provider for the virtual machine, storage and network at the provider's standard rates. No cancellation step is required; the hourly software fee begins when the trial period ends.
Listings are not yet live. Request notification when the trial opens.
Commitments
Cloud commitment eligibility
Marketplace software charges are generally eligible toward Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) and AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) commitments. Eligibility depends on the customer's agreement; confirm with the cloud account team. See Procurement for purchase orders and quotations.

Pricing questions
Is the fee charged when the virtual machine is stopped?
Marketplace software fees are metered per running hour, in the same manner as the virtual machine. A deallocated instance does not accrue the software fee.
Does marketplace spend count toward committed cloud spend?
Under most Azure and AWS enterprise agreements, yes. The rules depend on the specific contract; confirm with the account team.
Is a written quotation available for procurement?
Yes. Request a private offer and Kapstone Systems will provide a written quotation suitable for attachment to a requisition.
Will prices change after launch?
Final listing prices are set at launch within the ranges above. A private offer fixes the price for its term.
