Hardened Images/Procurement
Procurement
Purchasing routes for Kapstone Hardened Images: cloud marketplace, private offers, purchase orders for annual terms, and vendor documentation.
Purchasing routes
Four ways to acquire the images
| Route | Description | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud marketplace, pay as you go | Launch from Azure Marketplace (AWS Marketplace to follow). The software fee is metered per running hour and appears on the existing cloud invoice. No separate contract, invoice or vendor onboarding. Marketplace charges are generally eligible toward MACC and EDP commitments; confirm with the cloud account team. | Pilots, trials, single workloads, organizations with an existing cloud agreement. |
| Private offer | A negotiated price and term issued through the marketplace to a named customer account. Supports annual terms, cluster discounts, multi-account coverage and custom payment schedules. Billing still runs through the cloud account and remains commitment-eligible. | Agencies, primes covering subcontractors, organizations requiring a fixed annual figure. |
| Purchase order for an annual term | For organizations whose procurement rules require a purchase order, Kapstone Systems provides a written quotation for an annual term. The order is fulfilled as a marketplace private offer matched to the quotation, so the charge still flows through the cloud account. | State and local agencies, universities, organizations with PO-based purchasing. |
| Reseller or cooperative contract | Marketplace private offers can be issued through an authorized cloud reseller where the customer purchases cloud services that way. Cooperative purchasing agreements that cover cloud marketplace spend apply. | Federal agencies buying through a reseller; state and local entities on cooperative contracts. |

Free trial
Trial terms
One month on Azure; 30 days on AWS. The software fee is waived for the trial period; the cloud provider's charges for the virtual machine, storage and network apply. The trial is available on each image at first listing.
Regions
Government regions
Azure Government and AWS GovCloud (US) regions are planned. Organizations with a requirement for a specific region are asked to state it when requesting notification so that it can be prioritized. Kapstone images are not themselves FedRAMP-authorized products; FedRAMP authorization applies to the cloud regions on which they run.
Frequently asked questions
Procurement questions
Does a marketplace purchase require a new contract with Kapstone Systems?
No. The marketplace terms and the customer's existing cloud agreement govern. A private offer may add negotiated terms for price and duration.
Can the purchase be made against an existing cloud commitment?
Marketplace software charges are generally eligible toward MACC and EDP commitments. Eligibility is determined by the customer's agreement with the cloud provider.
Is Kapstone Systems registered in SAM.gov?
Registration identifiers (UEI, CAGE) are listed above as [TBD] pending completion and will be published prior to listing.
Are the images available on GSA Schedule?
Not at this time. The images are sold through cloud marketplaces and private offers.
